The U.S. Department of Education sets the grant rules and regulations that govern the American History initiative. At the Department's Internet site, you can print the rules as well as the application package that must be completed to apply for the funding.
The Department awarded 114 grants under the Fiscal Year 2002 Teaching American History grant competition. Projects located in 39 States and the District of Columbia received awards ranging from $19,561 to
$1,000,000 for three-year projects. The Department of Education strongly encourages applicants to send a short e-mail to teachingamericanhistory@ed.gov
noting the intent to submit an application for funding. |
