West Virginia Outpatient Clinics In many cases, traveling to and from the state's veterans
hospitals can be difficult for veterans, who may suffer from the crippling effects of their illnesses or be faced with treacherous driving conditions, particularly during the winter months. It has concerned me that some of our
veterans may be foregoing the medical care they need because they find traveling to hospitals too difficult. Therefore, to help address veterans' needs for closer, more convenient access to health care, I have advocated community
clinics that can serve veterans closer to home. With my support, a Charleston-based outreach clinic is now bringing the health care services of the Huntington VA Center to more than 27,000 veterans in Kanawha and surrounding
counties. In addition, the Martinsburg VA Medical Center has established community-based outreach clinics in Petersburg, Grant County and Franklin, Pendleton County. Several veterans' outpatient clinics operating in West
