Huntington VA Medical Center My pursuits in behalf of the Huntington Veterans Affairs (VA)
Medical Center have been longstanding. These efforts began with the forging of an affiliation between the medical center and the Marshall University School Of Medicine. I supported the enactment of the Veterans Administration
Health Manpower Training Act of 1972, which authorized funds to be appropriated for the creation of new state medical schools that would be affiliated with nearby VA hospitals, thus expanding the availability of health care services to
our veterans throughout the nation. I also helped to provide funding to ensure that Marshall University could establish a center to provide health care for area veterans. |
