Leadership.      Character.      Commitment.

U.S. Senator Robert C. Byrd

Burial Services

There are two VA cemetaries in West Virginia, both in Taylor County.  Spouses and minor children of eligible veterans and service members may also be buried in a national cemetary.  The person making burial arrangements, usually the funeral director, should contact the national cemetery in which burial is desired at the time of need.  Scheduling can be done seven days a week for interments on Mondays through Fridays.

Survivors Benefits

The federal government offers a monetary benefit award to surviving spouses, unmarried children under age 18, and certain helpless children and parents of service personnel or veterans who die because of service-connected causes.  In certain cases, the benefit can be established if the veteran's death is nonservice-connected.  I can help survivors to apply for benefits, in resolving questions about the level of payment, or in tracking the progress of a claim through the VA process.
