Veterans Pensions Veterans with low incomes may be eligible for financial assistance. I can assist in checking to see if a veteran meets the qualifications or in applying for the pension. Disability Claims Monetary benefits are paid to veterans who are disabled by an injury or a disease incurred or aggravated as a result of their service to our nation. There are several disability programs, including those for prisoners of war, veterans presumed exposed to Agent Orange or other herbicides, veterans exposed to radiation, and Gulf War veterans suffering from undiagnosed illnesses. As of 1997, children of Vietnam Veterans who have spina bifida are also eligible for assistance and compensation from the VA. The level of compensation depends on the degree of disability and the number of dependents the veteran has. I can assist veterans in filing for disability, in resolving questions about the level of payment, or in tracking the progress of a claim through the VA process. Veterans service organizations (VSOs) can also assist veterans with disability questions. |
