Lloyd Jackson

Lloyd Jackson serves as chair of the Education Committee for the West Virginia Senate.  He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from West Virginia University in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in political science.  In 1977, he graduated from the WVU College of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the West Virginia Law Review.  He served as prosecuting attorney for Lincoln County, W.Va., for six years and is now serving his third term in the Senate.  Senator Jackson is a board member and on the executive committee of the Southern Regional Education Board.  He is also a board member of the Appalachian Education Laboratory and is the steering committee member from West Virginia for the Education Commission of the States.  He also served as a member of the Governor's Commission on Educational Quality and Equity and as a committee chair on the Governor's Task Force on Mountaintop Removal Mining.
