Cleo Mathews Cleo Mathews is president of the West Virginia Board of Education. Her more than forty years of teaching experience included teaching in a one-room school, junior high, high school, vocational school, post-secondary adult program, two-year community college, and four-year college. She taught in the Summers County School System for many years, developing business education programs and receiving the Governor's Award for the Outstanding Secondary Vocational Education Program. She also taught in the College of West Virginia School of Business and in the Mingo County public schools. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati and master's degree in vocational education from Marshall University. She is a former president of the Summers County Educaiton Association and active member of several other professional, service, and civic organizations.President Mathews' Remarks |
